Campaign Signs

Designing Effective Campaign Signs:

Campaign signs are as much a part of the political campaign process as the Donkey
and Elephant. Campaign signs have only one purpose and that is to get name recognition
for the candidate. Almost before anyone is even aware that it's election time,
campaign signs and banners spring up like dandelions. We find them along roadside,
posted in lawns and displayed in store windows.

Candidates need to keep in mind that a sign, which stands out, and easy to remember
will have more impact on their campaign. Many times candidate's loss the effectiveness
of their campaign signs by posting signs, which are hard to read, and do not get
the proper attention.

During a campaign, signs have three individual purposes: name recognition; encourage
voting; and challenging your opponent. Of the three, getting name recognition is
possible the most important, though it may be argued that encouraging voting is
the most important. In any case, you want your political campaign signs strategically
placed where they will be the most visible. This will assist in increasing awareness
of who you are in the voter's mind.

Well-coordinate sign campaigns act as a challenge to the opposition. Campaign signs
are constant reminders that there are supports for every candidate, and an even
greater number of undecided voters who are just waiting for a candidate to win their
vote.
