Political Signs
Political Signs Effectiveness:
The purpose of political signs is to get the message out. Every election
year, yards across America grow a fresh crop of political yard signs.
They are an important part of the elections because they can quickly
bring a candidate's name to the forefront.
Depending on local ordinances candidates may be restricted to the number
of signs they are permitted to have up and how close to the street, they
are allowed. In some districts, a candidate can have as many signs as he
has registered voters, while other districts, this number may be too
high. Political yard signs are not always enough. Candidates also want a
variety of large signs to small signs.
In rural districts where there is a greater area of to cover, the ratio
should be more large signs to small signs, where as in urban districts
the ratio is reversed. Small political signs are great for
neighborhoods.
Another rule of thumb for many candidates is to place large signs in
areas where the speed limit is 30 MPH or greater, and they place their
smaller signs along neighborhood streets where the speeds limit is under
30 MPH.
